It’s been close to a month since the circuit breaker measures were implemented which led to many of us working from home. Have a proper working space While many are tempted to work from the comfort of the bed, remind yourself this is a no as it is harder to get into the work-mode. Working in your bedroom may end up blurring the lines between your work and personal time, and may even affect the quality of sleep you get in the long run. Instead, have a designated workspace to help you set clear boundaries between work-mode and home-mode. It is good to have a space that is similar to the one at work to emulate your usual work environment. This also means having a clean and well-lit working space. Recently, Singapore has seen a sharp increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases. As a result, Singapore has stepped up its measures and implemented the Circuit Breaker as a temporary measure on 7th April 2020. With more than 2500 cases currently, we have read up different sources and consolidated a few ways on the basic precautionary measures we can take. 1. Maintain Social Distancing During this circuit breaker period, Singaporeans are advised to only leave the house for essential reasons, such as to get essential goods and services, or if one works in an essential service sector. All gatherings with family or friends who do not live together are banned as well. As for those that leave the house, a safety distance of at least one metre must be kept from others (Gov.sg, 2020). It is important for us to maintain social distance in this period of time, especially with someone who is coughing or sneezing, so as to contain the spread of the virus. Social distancing does not only protect us but helps protect those around us too. Let’s stand together by not standing together physically. 2. Practise Good Hygiene Cover our mouth and nose when we need to cough or sneeze and dispose of the used tissue and wash our hands immediately. Also, avoid touching our eyes, nose and mouth as our hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses from there. The contaminated hands can then transfer the virus picked up to our eyes, nose or mouth, which can enter our body and make us sick as a result (WHO, 2020). 3. Cleaning and Disinfecting Washing our hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub will help kill the viruses that may be on our hands. According to a study, the COVID-19 virus can stick around on plastic surfaces for up to three days. Thus, by washing hands regularly, it is the first line of defence against the virus (Belgey, 2020). It is also good to clean your homes and disinfect the place especially when a household member is sick. Campaign Dates: From 12pm-4pm 1st – 8th September 2024 13th – 14th September 2024 20th – 22nd September 2024 27th – 29th September 2024 Unforgettable Waterpark Fun: 3 Engaging Games As part of the Family Recharge Combo, our team came up with 3 engaging game stations that ensured that every visitor, especially the younger ones, had the opportunity to enjoy their holiday.  Dunk Attack! In this game, one participant sits beneath a suspended pail while the other stands at a designated distance, aiming to hit a target with a ball. The objective is to strike the target, which activates the mechanism, causing the pail to tip and splash water onto the seated player. Location of Game Station: Opposite Rainbow Reef  Super Soak Sponge One player begins by soaking a sponge in a bucket of water, then briskly walks to a designated spot to squeeze the water into a container. The sponge is then passed to the next teammate, who repeats the process. The team that collects the most water in their container by the end of the game wins. Location of Game Station: Beside Bay Restaurant  Water Bucket Challenge Each player will be blindfolded and must sit in a line for this challenge. The first player starts with a bucket full of water and must carefully pour it into the bucket of the next player sitting behind, aiming to minimize spills. This process continues down the line until the last team member receives the water. The team that has the most water by the end wins the game. Location of Game Station: Beside Bay Restaurant Recharging for the New School Term The campaign was designed to encourage families, particularly children, to take a well-deserved school break and recharge at Adventure Cove Waterpark. With the new school term around the corner, this activation provided the perfect opportunity for kids to unwind, have fun, and return to their studies refreshed and full of energy.
